Baby Seals Rescued From Thin And Thick Fishing Line
Denzil and Naude from Ocean Conservation Namibia love getting 2 birds with one stone, or in this case, 2 seals on one chase.
They were on Patrol at Pelican Point, Namibia, and noticed 2 entangled pups in 1 group lying close to the beach. They ran down close to the water, and Naude Quickly managed to grab the first pup by hand, while Denzil, after a little searching, found and restrained the second pup by net.
The first pup was a young male, and had a thin piece of recreational fishing line looped around his neck. They quickly cut if free and moved on to the second one.
This pup, a female had some thicker commercial fishing line around her neck, which was starting to cut quite deeply into her skin. They carefully extracted the line and she was free to join the other seals waiting patiently in the water.
