Must See: Chicago ER doctors' eyewitness account of the coronavirus cris...
If you see nothing else today, please watch this: Chicago ER doctors' eyewitness account of the coronavirus crisis inside his emergency room. Dr. Scott Samlan is an emergency room doctor at Mount Sinai Hospital on the west side of Chicago. He's worked in the ER for 16 years. He started a go fund me page to raise money to buy masks and other personal protective equipment for his colleagues who are on the front line of the coronavirus crisis. When I called Dr. Samlan for a pre-arranged interview, I wasn't expecting him to answer the call in the emergency room. What we saw over the course of the next 30 minutes was surreal and sobering. You'll also hear from Dr. Samlan's coworker Dr. Chris Scodeller, too. Everyone in the US needs to understand what these doctors are dealing with: the uncertainty, the lack of supplies, and the mental anguish that goes with doing your job and worrying about what you may be taking home. Note: There were other physicians attending to people in need and no one went without care during the interview.
