The San Sebastian Street Festival celebrates the soul of Puerto Rico
Have you ever wished for a longer Christmas holiday season? Well, one island of the Caribbean extends the festivities until the last days of January, closing out the month with an all-out bash. That island is the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico.
This year the party travelled outside the confines of the Caribbean and made it to some displaced residents in Florida. While Hurricane Maria left a path of destruction across their island, Puerto Ricans wanted to celebrate that it did not kill their spirit.
Our Urban Voice is the San Sebastian Street Festival.
The San Sebastian Street Festival in San Juan is often compared to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. It also has a nickname …San Se.
